The Green Jay is found in two distinct populations, one located north of the Rio Grande River in south Texas southward to north-central Honduras; and the other in northwestern South America, stretching from Columbia and Venezuela southward through eastern Ecuador and Peru to Bolivia. It is important to note that some experts classify the two populations as totally separate species – Green Jay in the north and Inca Jay in South America.
