| 0019 Out of the Forest Coastal British Columbia, Canada |

| It was raining when this limited edition photograph was made. After waiting some time and not seeing any animals at all, I began wondering if white bears really did exist; or, were they a figment of someone's imagination. Then I heard something . . . not loud, but soft, like footsteps in water. Was it my imagination? No. There it was; materializing out of the forest, a real, live white bear. All of a sudden, I understood why they're called Spirit Bears.
Spirit Bears are not albinos. Instead, they are a color phase of the American black bear. Unlike mammals with albinism, the eyes of the Spirit Bear are dark brown and their skin is black. Edition of 500 |
