The Caribbean Flamingo, a subspecies of the Greater, is found throughout the Caribbean Islands as well as the Galapagos archipelago. Of the five species of flamingos, Caribbeans have the brightest coloration. Flamingos are filter-feeders, straining food out of the water with their bill while their head is upside-down.
