|
Bald Eagles mate for life. Although the average life span is somewhere between fifteen and twenty years, at least one individual was known to live to the ripe old age of 28. Breeding typically begins at age four or five when the birds become sexually mature and obtain their all-white head and tail feathers. Young eagles face many dangers and mortality is high. A pair will be fortunate if only two or three of their offspring reach maturity. Edition of 500. |
